David R. Lane

David R. Lane was born in San Jose, California and raised in neighboring Butte County. He has been practicing law in Yuba and Sutter Counties for over forty-five years. He joined Rich, Fuidge, Bordsen & Galyean in 1973 and served as a shareholder of the firm from 1976 until transitioning to Of Counsel. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in the Napa County District Attorney’s Office, and earlier served as an interim administrative hearing officer for the State of California, hearing welfare appeals.
Practice Focus
Mr. Lane is a California Family Law Specialist, certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization since 1980 — a credential held by fewer than one percent of California attorneys. The Board’s Certified Family Law Specialist designation requires extensive courtroom experience, peer review by judges and family law attorneys, completion of a rigorous written examination, and continuing legal education focused exclusively on family law.
Throughout his career he has represented clients in dissolution of marriage, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, property division, paternity, adoption, and other family law matters across the Yuba-Sutter region. Beyond family law, Mr. Lane has substantial experience in criminal law, real property law, personal injury, corporate law, and municipal law — reflecting the broad general-practice tradition of the firm. He has also served as Judge Pro Tem hearing various types of matters in local courts.
